One of my early heroes, Kris Menace is back with some interesting material, still keeping it real to his original sound.

The track is called “Falling Star” and it’s a track that belongs to his upcoming album “Electric Horizon”. The single will be released on March 5th on his own label Compuphonic. Kris Menace is gearing up for another busy year in 2012. Apart from his new album, the unstoppable German producer will release two more records from his side-projects: Black Van’s debut album (finally), as well as the new Stars on 33 album. Really looking forward to this!

We meet up with Guy Gerber in Miami, what a genuine guy with both his feet on the ground.

Here we have Justice new video for their track “On’n'On directed by the french director Alexandre Courtes. Once again they have created a unique and inspiring video. This visual arrives earlier than the EP release of the single, which will include remixes of the track by Brodinksi, Erol Alkas, Rick Rubin, Tiga and Video Village. Looking forward to that to say the least.

You are probably tired of the overused phrase: We’re back! So lets skip that from here on.

This week we start with a track by Kaine and Kathy Diamond called “Love Saves The Day”. The original mix is alright, but with a little magic from the American duo Soul Clap, the track hits higher levels.

So here goes the story how I first came across this track.

It was somewhere in the Croatian archipelago. Me, Fredrik, Henrik and some other friends were sailing on a “yacht” for a week. And towards the end of the week, everyone had a tacit agreement that the last “Karlovačko” (Croatian beer) was drunk, our souls needed rest.

But, to make a long story short, a DJ started playing banging tracks on the foredeck, Sangria and tequila started flowing, and abracadabra, we were back on the winning train.

Well, let’s move on.

Next up we have a edit of “Larse – The More I Want”, a super smooth melodic bassline combined with some airy vocals, a perfect match. Moving on to a track called “Kalooo” by Lemos. It was the repetitive and rather odd melody that I fell for, but also the natural swing of the track. Finally, we have a remix from the Swedish duo Skudge, which is incredibly good. They continue to convince with their own releases and remixes.

So there you go! We have managed to move from a sunny boat deck in croatia with a cozy and warm remix by Soul Clap, all the way down to a basement, where Soul Clap has been replaced with Skudge.

I am really looking forward to this release. It’s been a while since we heard anything from the Stockholm duo, Caytas & Patz, but now they’re back. This time on Truesoul.

The EP is called “Are You Afraid” and will, in addition to the original mix, come with two other remixes from the Swedish legends Joel Mull and Nihad Tule.

The sound is exactly how I want it, deep, dark and heavy, and it applies to all the remixes.

I hope to hear more from the duo in 2012, and to catch them live.

There’s a lot of Brodinski at the moment, I see him everywhere. Last week he remixed Justice, now this track and an upcoming tour with Gesaffelstein. Keep up the good work is all I can say.

Malibu Rum has updated their Music Mixer App together with Great Works NYC. The app let’s anyone be a dj, sort of. At least you can mix between tracks, add effects and play around with some rave loops. If you have used this app before the new things with this update are the following:

- 3 new unreleased tracks from Crookers, Axel Boman and Tony Senghore that are only available through the app.
- Retina (iPhone 4 resolution on all the graphics).
- Improved effects with a “kaossilator” inspired effect tool.
- 8 more sound loops.

Rumor has it that the next update (2.0) will include “add your own tracks”, which will be kind of amazing if it’s true.

We had the pleasure to be at the season premiere of Måndagsklubben in Åre. An almost legendary club with over 10 years in da biz. The main acts for the night was none less then Adrian Lux and Olle Oljud. Great combo! Olle who was the warmup made a really friendly gesture by playing the darkest of techno just before Adrians set. Such as Plastikman and this one. Ha.

Adrian countered with opening his set with one of his newest productions. Don’t know the name of the track yet but you can listen to it in the video below. This was actually the first time he played it in public and it looks like the crowd felt it.
