One of my early heroes, Kris Menace is back with some interesting material, still keeping it real to his original sound.

The track is called “Falling Star” and it’s a track that belongs to his upcoming album “Electric Horizon”. The single will be released on March 5th on his own label Compuphonic. Kris Menace is gearing up for another busy year in 2012. Apart from his new album, the unstoppable German producer will release two more records from his side-projects: Black Van’s debut album (finally), as well as the new Stars on 33 album. Really looking forward to this!

We meet up with Guy Gerber in Miami, what a genuine guy with both his feet on the ground.

Mr everything he touches turns to gold aka Joris Voorn has created his own version of the classic track “Dj Le Roi feat. Roland Clark – I Get Deep”. It’s always hard to top a power song like this but I think Joris makes a really good job here. Out now on Get Physical Music.

Here we have Justice new video for their track “On’n'On directed by the french director Alexandre Courtes. Once again they have created a unique and inspiring video. This visual arrives earlier than the EP release of the single, which will include remixes of the track by Brodinksi, Erol Alkas, Rick Rubin, Tiga and Video Village. Looking forward to that to say the least.

There’s a lot of Brodinski at the moment, I see him everywhere. Last week he remixed Justice, now this track and an upcoming tour with Gesaffelstein. Keep up the good work is all I can say.

Malibu Rum has updated their Music Mixer App together with Great Works NYC. The app let’s anyone be a dj, sort of. At least you can mix between tracks, add effects and play around with some rave loops. If you have used this app before the new things with this update are the following:

- 3 new unreleased tracks from Crookers, Axel Boman and Tony Senghore that are only available through the app.
- Retina (iPhone 4 resolution on all the graphics).
- Improved effects with a “kaossilator” inspired effect tool.
- 8 more sound loops.

Rumor has it that the next update (2.0) will include “add your own tracks”, which will be kind of amazing if it’s true.

We had the pleasure to be at the season premiere of Måndagsklubben in Åre. An almost legendary club with over 10 years in da biz. The main acts for the night was none less then Adrian Lux and Olle Oljud. Great combo! Olle who was the warmup made a really friendly gesture by playing the darkest of techno just before Adrians set. Such as Plastikman and this one. Ha.

Adrian countered with opening his set with one of his newest productions. Don’t know the name of the track yet but you can listen to it in the video below. This was actually the first time he played it in public and it looks like the crowd felt it.

We are very happy to have Holosound as a guest on our podcast show. Unfortunately we don’t have a tracklist ready but I can assure that there are some really tasty tracks in there. When did you start to develop an interest in electronic music
I actually went with a friend to Israel in 1993 and one of the first things we did upon arriving in Jerusalem was buy a hookah. When we got back to the hotel we found that the shopkeeper had replaced the tobacco with a Psy-Trance cassette tape. After the shock of being “ripped off” subsided, I figured we might as well listen to it. That coupled with Flute Loop from Beastie Boys’ Ill Communication album cemented a curiosity in all things electronic. Returning to the US in ’93 with 3 more years of high school to go and no real Internet made finding more music a bit of a challenge. But finding new music through exploring relationships and stepping outside of my comfort zone has always served me very well so it was ultimately a blessing in disguise.

What has been your source for inspiration? (artists that inspiring you to your sound / places etc)
I think that the most inspirational aspect of what’s happened since I began making and playing records has been the people I’ve met in the various different places I’ve gotten the chance to play. It’s so nice to be sitting in someone’s apartment on the other side of the world, have only the most basic English words between the two of you, and still be able to have a great time. I’m inspired to do what I do because I love the way good music levels the playing field for us all and gives us an experience we can all share regardless of where we come from or what we believe.

Your artist name Holosound, does it have a special meaning or what is the story behind it?
When I was in high school, I watched a documentary about the Beatles in which they asked John how he’d come up with the name for The Beatles. He recounted how he’d woken up from a dream with the word “Beatles” stuck in his head. The next day I woke up with the name ‘Holobound” stuck in my head. When I moved to NYC to team up with my former partner, I thought “why not make it HoloSOUND?”……
